Deluge
I grew up by the ocean and this series is an ode to that experience. Observing the graphic power of waves cresting, crashing, smashing and exploding is an overwhelming primal experience, and one that I wanted to tap into. I wanted the viewer to recall their own experience of it every time they see these paintings. These are not visually or stylistically realistic paintings but an abstract expression of that memory for me. The material is wind, water and paint.
