In the paintings in this series, the mark is made in a whole new way. Without a brush. I wanted to use line as a way to carry color, tonality, form, expression, movement, energy. All in one go. The line is not just an outline to fill in color and tone. Line is the very thing. The kinetic feeling that the lines create adds movement to the subject. Life is movement.
